Important Notes:

Using APFS is REQUIRED in Mojave in order to receive system updates via the normal Software Update method. If you choose to continue using macOS Extended (Journaled) as your filesystem type, you will NOT receive System Updates via System Preferences. If you want to install the 10.14.1 update (and are not currently running 10.14.1), perform the following steps: • Download the latest version of Mojave Patcher • Download the installer using the Tools menu of Mojave Patcher • Create a patched USB installer • Boot from that, and install 10.14.1 onto the volume containing an older release. • Once done, apply the post-install patches, and you should now be on 10.14.1.

HELP!!!

hey guys I know I haven't been on here in a long time.. I just haven't really been interested in sims lately. Anyway... I have a question lol I really need help.

I just got a “new iMac” from a friend. Its from 2012 but my old iMac was from 2010 so its an upgrade for me lol.. & I figured id just start over w cc & maybe id get back into the game starting fresh. BUT my game ISN'T WORKING!!!!! its incredibly slow & laggy & the graphics r TERRIBLE its all pixelated and weird.. I thought it was maybe some CC I downloaded so I took it all out & tried again & its STILL like this... so PLEASE help??? I literally JUST downloaded the game. I have no idea why it's doing this?

I tried googling but all the threads I'm finding are from years ago :// But I DID see hat apparently there used to be a problem with the NVIDIA graphics thingy???????? but I have NO IDEA what that is so idk what to do about it?

Ive tested this by using spacebar preview and observing server side the file unlocked after this amount of time. The last major holdout is files are held once closed for ~20 minutes. disable column view preview window as the server considers the preview file an open file so it locks the file when a user has it simply highlighted…fairly easy solve although it takes away functionality somewhat. Greetings….just want to follow up on the smb issue If we then select the open files and force them to close on the server, everything starts working again (until the open files build up and build up). It’s the thousands of Read only file handles that’s causing these problems. We also see some files that are opened with Write + Read access �� this is to be expected when people are working off the server. Nor can you do anything to any folder directly above this file (e.g. You can’t rename it, you can’t move it, you can’t delete it. Windows on the other hand won’t do anything to any file with an open file handle. Unix is able to move, rename and delete files that are opened with a read-only file handle. These files opened in Read only mode are not an issue on a server running a Unix-type operating system. The symptoms are most apparent when we go into the Computer Management > Shared Folders > Open FilesĮven on a small network (10-20 workstations) there will often be thousands and thousands of open files, all open in Read mode. I’m still seeing this issue with macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 and 10.13.2 – it did look like it was initially fixed in 10.13, and the issue was definitely better, however now with more heavy use and newer updates, we’re back where we were before.

I am trying to update Command line tools on my mac osx.

All downloads are hosted by Apple. Links on this site take you directly to Apple’s download pages. This is not an official Apple website. Please consider donating to help maintain it. Xcode - Wikipedia has a complete compatibility listing for Xcode, what version works with which version of OS X. It also includes a listing of versions of Xcode’s support libraries for things like iOS and iWatch, for each version. I am searching for a proper IDE for iOS developement but MAC OS X version is 10.11.6 & because of this I am unable to install XCode. It says 'I should have MAC OS X 10.12+'. Developers who want to make use of the Xcode 8 SDKs from the command line must choose the SDK with xcode-select. Developers on OS X El Capitan who have installed versions of the Command Line Tools (OS X 10.11) for Xcode 8 Beta should install Command Line Tools (OS X 10.11) for Xcode 7.3.1.

Solution no. 1:

For future travelers, here’s a version-agnostic approach. First, run softwareupdate --list. This will probably take a couple of minutes. When it’s done, you’ll see a bulleted (with an asterisk) output like this:

Find the bullet that refers to the Xcode command line tools. Copy that entire line (except the asterisk…). In the above case, you would copy: Command Line Tools (macOS High Sierra version 10.13) for Xcode-10.1

Then, run the install command (as shown by Brendan Shanks) with what you copied inside quotes:

I’m going to answer a slightly different question here, because this question came up when I searched for a solution to my problem. Hopefully it’ll help someone (and it’ll surely help me next time I run into the same issue).

I wanted to upgrade the command line tools from version 8 to 9. The App Store didn’t suggest this upgrade, and neither did softwareupdate --list.

installed the new version of the tools. But clang --version still gave 8.0.0 as the version number. xcode-select -r and rebooting didn’t solve this issue.

xcode-select -p returned /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer, and clang --version reported an installation directory under there. I thought I’d start over again.

deleted version 8 of the tools. But xcode-select --install said the command line tools were already installed.

Now, sudo xcode-select -p returns /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/.

It seems that the problem was that the new version of the tools are installed to a different directory, and xcode-select -r is not clever enough to find the latest version.

Solution no. 3:

Run softwareupdate -i 'Command Line Tools (macOS El Capitan version 10.11) for Xcode-8.2'. The quotes are important.

Solution no. 4:

I faced similar problem on MacOS Mojave version 10.14.3 with Xcode 10.3 installed. The real problem was, when I installed the Xcode 10.3, I deleted the “Xcode-beta.app” first and then installed the new version. Therefore, when I tried installing CLion for C++ development and configuring it, CMake gave me error And Updating Command Line Tool didnt work for me:

Then I tried to check the version of Clang using:

And the response lead me to the real problem i.e. Active Developer path was still pointing to Old version of Xcode that I had already deleted.

Therefore, I switched the active developer path to latest Xcode App installed using:

And everything worked like a charm automatically.

I ran the same command with sudo and that did the trick.

Install Mavericks On Unsupported Mac

Question :

Install Mac OS X 10.9 on unsupported MacBook. The MacBook2,1 has Intel GMA950 Video, and there are no supported 64-bit-drivers for Mavericks. The drivers I suggest you to install are supposed to be drivers from a public beta of 10.6 (Snow Leopard) that Apple once. Guide to installing OS X Mavericks on your Unsupported Mac.

I read somewhere that it is possible to install the latest version of OSX 10.10 Yosemite on my Mac, even though the official installer refuses to install.

Update 2019-05-02: For those of you who want to install macOS 10.14 on an unsupported Mac, check this post. I have a MacBook Mid 2007 (more technically named MacBook2,1) that officially can not be upgraded beyond Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion). It is however possible to install Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) on it with quite good success and not too much effort. Install Mavericks on older Mac Pro 1,1 & 2,1 (2006/2007 gen) They done it, you can install Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks on first and second generation of Mac Pro! Installing newer versions of OSX on slightly older Macs that do not meet the official system requirements can be done using MacPostFactor (MCPF).

MacPostFactor also supports installing OSX versions up to OSX 10.10 Yosemite on older Macs. And a new version that supports installing OSX 10.11 El_Capitan is in the works.

We are excited about our upcoming release of µTorrent Web for Mac and have an important announcement about an automatic update coming in early September.

µTorrent Classic for Mac, the software you are currently running, is a 32-bit app. Apple is soon releasing a new Mac OS, Catalina (version 10.15), which is not compatible with 32-bit apps. Therefore, in early September, we will automatically update µTorrent Classic for Mac to our newest torrent downloader and player, µTorrent Web for Mac. This is necessary to ensure that our torrent downloading software continues to work seamlessly with Catalina when millions of users update to the new version.

If you don’t have plans to update your Mac OS to Catalina and wish to continue using µTorrent Classic for Mac, you will be able to download the old version from our Web site after the automatic update occurs. However, please note that if you update your Mac OS to Catalina (version 10.15) sometime in the future, µTorrent Classic for Mac will no longer work.

What will happen when I’m updated to µTorrent Web for Mac?

Once inside the latest version of our new torrent software, you will notice a simplified interface and the ability to download and play torrent files and magnet links, all within your browser window. You’ll be able to download any file type to store locally in the folder of your choice, set download and upload speed limits to free up network resources for other internet tasks, and play torrent files while they download without needing to search folders or look for other media player apps.

Why is my µTorrent client automatically upgrading?

Apple will no longer support 32-bit applications, including µTorrent Classic for Mac, in the next operating system called Catalina (version 10.15). We created a completely new torrent downloader and player, µTorrent Web for Mac, that will work on Mac OS Catalina.

When will my µTorrent client update?

We will start updating users in early September. If you are using µTorrent Classic for Mac version 1.87 or earlier version, you will automatically get upgraded to µTorrent Web for Mac.

What is the difference between µTorrent Classic for Mac and µTorrent Web for Mac?

They work the same in that they are light, fast, and enable downloading of torrent files and magnet links. With µTorrent Web for Mac, the torrent client lives in your browser as opposed to your desktop and you’ll notice a simplified interface that allows you to stream videos while you download files, without needing to wait for your downloads to complete. You will also be able to watch licensed videos for free.

What if I don’t want µTorrent Web for Mac?
